Psycho-Cybernetics is a book that helps a person reprogram their mind for success. Psycho-Cybernetics has been around since the 60's and the book has been said to change a lot of people's lives. This book has changed athletes. Speakers like Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy and Tony Robbins have been motivated by Psycho-Cybernetics as well. Psycho-Cybernetics was created by Dr. Maxwell Maltz. Maxwell Maltz, a cosmetic surgeon saw that even after patients got surgery they were still unsatisfied with themselves.

This led Dr. Maxwell Maltz to do a lot of thinking which inspired him to write Psycho-Cybernetics. Dr. Maxwell believed that if you could reprogram you mind or undergo what he calls "emotional surgery" that people would become more confident and or more successful. Psycho-Cybernetics sends out subliminal messages to reprogram one's thinking and self-image. This book makes a person redirect their negative thinking or view of themselves, which Dr. Maxwell says usually comes from a traumatic event, and the person starts to see themselves in a more positive way.

So what happens is the person starts to believe they can accomplish things that they were afraid of trying and starts to doubt that they can no longer do the things that they were once confident in doing. Psycho-Cybernetics sounds like a great book. Although there has been no scientific evidence that supports the theories in the book, any system that at least attempts to make a person see themselves as a more confident and successful individual deserves to be acknowledged. Psycho-Cybernetics is one book that will be on my shelf.
